Help Happens Here: Rethinking Who Needs Help
Sometimes we have an image in our minds of who needs help. Jennifer gently challenges us to rethink that.
In our community, it often takes two incomes to make ends meet. What we’re seeing this year—again and again—are families who suddenly go from two incomes to one. Almost all have children.
The loss comes in many forms:
• A job that’s lost and can’t be replaced
• A serious illness
• A death in the family
• Divorce or unexpected tragedy
These are neighbors who never imagined they’d be here. They’ve tried to manage on their own. It just isn’t working. That’s where Cornerstone steps in.
We walk alongside parents navigating life on one income. We meet. We listen. We care. And we get creative. Sometimes that means connecting them to other resources. Sometimes it means helping cover a bill. Often, it means teaching them how to budget and adjust to their new financial reality.
We take this work seriously because these families matter. We’re working to make a difference—one person, one family at a time. And you are part of that. Your prayers, your generosity, your referrals, and your volunteer hours make this possible.
Thank you for being the help that happens here.
