Get to Know the Cornerstone Staff
Founder/Executive Director/Board Member
Cornerstone NCT has sparked some powerful moments over the years. And each time Jennifer is there to witness a Neighbor’s lightbulb moment, watch a kid smile when they open a new backpack, or celebrate a Neighbor’s new job, she is inspired to work even harder for area families who need assistance. Jennifer holds a Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Services from Stephen F. Austin State University.
Fun fact: Jennifer started playing soccer again in 2017 after a 14-year hiatus.
Director of Development
Courtney has been involved with Cornerstone NCT from the very beginning — first as a volunteer, and now as our Director of Development. She sees the need in the local community, and she loves celebrating all of the successes a Neighbor achieves. She is a firm believer that on the journey to empowerment, the small successes are just as important as the big ones. Her passion is event planning, and she loves to see the joy on our Neighbors’ faces when God provides the perfect backpack or Christmas gift. Courtney holds a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising from the University of North Texas.
Fun fact: Courtney starred in a national Super Bowl commercial for Walmart.
Cornerstone ReSale Manager
Dawn first connected with Cornerstone NCT as a Neighbor in need. As a single mom, Dawn understands the struggles many parents face daily. Dawn can relate and connect with Cornerstone Neighbors in ways that others cannot, providing hope and encouragement from the authentic perspective of someone who’s been there. She also draws tremendous inspiration from our volunteers, who dedicate their time, money, prayers, and advice to help encourage others.
Fun fact: Dawn loves music and dreamed of becoming a singer. In grade school, her classmates would ask her to sing every day.
Cornerstone ReSale Assistant Manager
Monica came to Cornerstone NCT as a volunteer in our donation center and retail store. She loved the controlled chaos and ongoing treasure hunt of the donation center and became our retail assistant manager in 2015. Monica is motivated and inspired by the volunteers who give their personal time to Cornerstone NCT. She loves knowing that the hard work she and her team contribute is helping someone else to have a better day.
Fun fact: Monica is an avid “junker,” who loves finding beauty in objects that some people view as trash.
Heather started out as a volunteer, helping out with Cornerstone Christmas, our Back-to-School Bash, and other events. After witnessing what prayer, a great team of faithful people, and a community with love in their hearts can accomplish to empower those in need, Heather joined Cornerstone NCT as our bookkeeper in 2017. She is constantly inspired by seeing Neighbors who have previously had help through Cornerstone come back and tell us their long-term success story in becoming financially independent. Heather has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Kansas.
Fun fact: Heather’s favorite thing to do with her family is to go deep-sea fishing.
